4/2/2011

I work with some VERY smart 4-year-olds.

We sat in a circle this morning (the 4-year-olds, Ezra, and I) and I asked individual students to name 3 things -  like 3 colors or superheroes or books.  I asked one girl to name three foods.

She spelled it out: "G-R-A-P-E."

Impressed, I said, "Okay!  Grape..."

"G-R-E-E-N-A-P-P-L-E."

"Green apple!  Awesome!  One more...."

"B-A-N-N-A."

...brief pause... And then I said, "Oh! Yes.  Banana.  B-a-n-A-n-a."  She smiled and nodded.

Also, another little girl told me on the way to the bathroom, "When I grew up - when I turned 4 - I stopped napping."  Smart and mature, too. :)
