4/20/2011

I had my last class at Highlands Juvenile Detention Center this afternoon.

They gave me a piece of art they created - 4 hand-drawn young men in orange jumpsuits in front of a tissue paper background.  They also gave me a thank-you note on pink construction paper.

Here are some of the things they wrote to me:

"I've learned a lot from our classes, I hope you find what your looking for."

"You've brought color to our lives.  We will always remember you."

"Thank you for coming and teaching us fun things.  I will take what you taught me and put it to good use.  Good luck in life and have fun in the big city.  Again thank you.  I had a lot of fun.  You made my life better."

The first of many good-byes...
